Going against the social
norm, Ashleigh Williams graduated from Lovelace Academy and set out to invent
devices that made the veterans of the war feel functional again. When working a
hospital she is met with a challenge: a triple amputee with eyes she cannot
tear herself from.
Edmund Neil, formerly
Michael Neil, has no recollection of his life before arriving in the hospital
and quite frankly, given the severity of his wounds, never wants to remember
and doesn't believe he should be alive. That is until a petite engineer popped
into his life with an invention that can give him and every single amputee
veterans back their life: a limb that doesn't just attach to the skin, but to
the remaining tendons beneath the skin.
Now fitted with the
device, the pair are faced against fighting social norms, legal details, and
even the church as they seek to find new hospitals willing to fit the
devices...
And as they give courtship
a try.
